Shasta’s Story Round-Up: October 2016

Teresa Messer (’09)

Teresa Messer (’09) earned undergraduate degrees in philosophy and English while at UH. Her upbringing as the child of Vietnamese immigrants as well as her community service involvement with refugees while she was a student at the University of Houston ultimately led her to her calling – to help immigrants navigate through the complexities of U.S. Immigration and Nationality Law.

Alyson Landry (M.A. ’16)

Alyson Landry (M.A. ’16) teaches Professional Communications to seniors at Houston’s High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA), and has presented on how to integrate arts and academics nationwide. She studied theater at Florida State University, and has worked professionally in regional theaters and trained in London before becoming a full-time educator.

Dr. Robert Brady Malone (’06)

Dr. Robert Brady Malone (’06) received his bachelor degree in biology from UH, and went on to simultaneously earn his doctorate of medicine and M.B.A. He has ultimately chosen to pursue a career in health care administration, feeling he can make a larger impact on the health care system as an administrator than as a practicing physician.
